As Saturday winds down here in beautiful Scotland... dinner is finished... I am listening to some groovy jazz music... there's a gorgeous pale blue evening sky... I give thanks for my abundant blessings as I blog about this day's outings.
Today we had to get the the back tire of our rental car repaired for the 2nd time! The first time it had a piece of metal in it, this time it was a nail! Twice in 2 weeks. Crazy. Oh well. At least it was minor.
This-afternoon we went to Falkland Palace and then Hill of Tarvit Mansion. Falkland Palace is in an adorable village called Falkland. Here are a couple of pix of the village:

Today they were doing some re-enactments on the grounds. It was fun to see. We took a picnic lunch with us and ate on the palace grounds. How cool is that?! Not often that we get to have a picnic at a palace! :)
Next was Hill of Tarvit Mansion. This mansion was built in 1906 by Frederick Sharp. His family enjoyed it until 1948, when the last of his 2 children died, tragically young. The house was then given to the Scotland National Trust. It's pretty nice! And the grounds and view were amazing!

Pure silver ship for the table. Why not?! |

Playing a game of Snooker. We figured "Crud" would be too loud and risky. :) |

Beautiful woodwork |

I motioned for them to put an arm around each other, but this is what they did instead. :) Turkeys. |

Playing croquet on the lawn. Very traditional. :) |

Once again, the drives through the countryside were beautiful, and we were blessed with great weather. We got to visit with our Jess and Brooke and their husbands this-evening over Facetime, which was fun.
Now we'll play some games.
