Today "after school" we went to Kirkcaldy, which is about a 20 minute drive away. The first thing we went to see was the Harbourmaster's house on the coast. I'm trying to remember, but I think the last time a real Harbourmaster lived there was in the early 1920s. Maybe the 50s??? Haha. I can't find the info online and I don't remember from what I read there.
Next we went to Ravenscraig Park and Castle. We had a fun time playing on the playground, and enjoyed seeing the ruins of the castle. It was built in 1460 by Queen Mary of Gueldres, wife of James II. It was attacked and captured in the 1650s and then fell to ruins.
Lastly, we went to the Kirkcaldy Library and Museum and saw these amazing tapestries. I'll let you read the plaques to see where they came from and what they are. It was a pretty dang cool exhibit. There were rooms full of the tapestries, depicting Scotland's history!
Wow, eh?!
A beautiful sunset, and watching "Pirates of the Carribean" to end the night.
