Chloe, Mick and Marian's grand-daughter joined us again last Saturday, Nov. 7th in Manchester. Aunt Marian met her at the train station, and our family drove there. We met at the Museum of Science and Industry. It's a great museum. We enjoyed learning about Manchester's history of being a world leader in industry. We didn't realize before what an impact this city has had on the world! We also ate lunch there at the museum. They had great food. The kids had a lot of fun too, mostly doing the hands-on activities.

The first passenger train station in England, here in Manchester, now part of the museum. |

Cool modern building in the background. Josh jumping with his umbrella. :) |

The first modern computer. See picture below. It could only remember 22 words! |

This is the 12th Roll-Royce car ever made! Only 17 of these cars were made! |

Just waiting for Dave to catch up! |
After dinner we went to Albert Square in Manchester to watch the lighting of the Christmas lights. It was packed with people! There was a show for an hour before they flipped the switch to turn on the lights. Popular singers and actors performed. It was really fun. Josh entertained us as he danced around and goofed off. :) It ended with a fireworks show. Great fun!

The Lord Mayor of Manchester. He gave a nice, short speech about Christmas and enjoying the holidays with our families. |
I'm grateful for technological advances and good clean family fun. :)
