Saturday morning the 21st, as we left Brussels there were more police with automatic weapons at the train station, but we were fine. I guess later on Saturday they closed down the metro, and then over the weekend the whole city went into lock down!!! We were so glad that we left when we did! Wow! The train ride went smoothly, and we met up with Austin, Brooke and Skyler there. It was so great to see them again! I was certainly relieved that we had all made it there safely! It was a really rainy day and there was also a little snow for a few minutes. I had made a mistake and told the taxi driver that there were 7 of us for the drive from the airport to the apartment, but there were actually 8! Oops. We were able to squish in just fine, though.

It took a while to get into our apartments and get settled. The apartment that most of us are staying in is a gorgeous old one! The view outside is what you would think of in Paris. 4-5 stories high apartments with little decorative iron balconies. White or cream. So romantic!
