Friday, Nov.  6th was our last day in York. Aunt Marian and cousin Elaine brought Josh into town to meet us. The night before, we decided that we would meet at the Viking museum - the Jorvik Center, then get lunch, and then do the Snickelways walk through the old part of the city. The viking center was pretty good. We got some lunch at a nice place with soup and sandwiches. The Snickelways walk is a walk through 50 alleys and streets in old York. It's a path that someone figured out and put into a book, that takes you in and out and around only a 1/2 mile by 1/4 mile rectangle, but you end up walking 3 1/2 miles, all never venturing more than 1/4 mile away from The Shambles and never retracing your steps! Tyler had the book in hand and led the way. It was fun. Aunt Marian and Elaine had to leave about 30 minutes before we finished. It took us 3 1/4 hours! But we did stop a few times here and there to look at things.

The stonecutting yard of the York Minster. They constantly have to replace stone because it's a soft stone.

Pieces of stone that are ready to be placed in the minster.

In the book, it says that this is the "quintessence" of snickelways!

What a name!

Notice the chimney in front and how askew it is!

Look out tower.

Haha! Great sign. Don't do this!

And we made it! Yay!
We grabbed some dinner at Mickey D's and then headed to our home away from home - the Foster's home in Hyde.
