On Wednesday we went to an estate home called Hanbury Hall. It's another lovely one. The reason that the National Trust accepted this one is because of the mural paintings on the ceilings and walls. They were painted by Sir James Thornhill, who also painted the inside of the dome of St. Paul's Cathedral and some works at Chatsworth. From the internet: The focus of the paintings around the stairwell is the life of the Greek hero Achilles, as told by a range of classical sources. They are surmounted by a large representation of the Olympian gods on the ceiling.

Janae and I were flicking our hair, imitating Tyler :)

In the lovely dining room
This painting is actually of the 2 boys of the family! In those days, they would dress their boys to look like girls until they were 16, to lessen the chance of them being kidnapped! That is because girls couldn't inherit the family estate, so they weren't kidnapped as often! Crazy.

Some of the lovely gardens.
