When we were staying with Uncle Mick and Aunt Marian, their son Peter and his family told us about Cadbury World, and recommended that we go there. It sounded like a great idea to us! We love chocolate! So last Thursday, the 15th we went there. It was pretty cool. We weren't allowed to take pictures in the processing area, but we got some fun ones before and after that part of the tour.

Ready to watch the Cadbury World 4D movie. Honestly, it was pretty lame, but fun to do together :)
A little playground fun

At the beginning of the tour, they gave each of us 3 small candy bars! Then later they gave us a cup of liquid chocolate and let us choose up to 2 toppings. After eating 1 candy bar and then this cup, we were "chocolated out"! Of course Dave bought a bunch of chocolate, that we'll have shipped home!
Eating liquid chocolate with toppings. MMMMmmmm!
They had a few displays at the end of the tour that had nothing to do with chocolate, but were fun.

This is a small display using mirrors, that creates a glowing globe. It was cool.

We also went to the Selly House Manor which is in the town where Cadbury World is, Bourneville. It's a Tudor style home, about 500 years old. This is taken from the internet. It's interesting.

In 1907, The Rookery was  in poor condition and was put up for sale by auction. It was bought by George Cadbury, who was a chocolate manufacturer, philanthropist, creator of Bournville village and teacher of adult education.
George Cadbury bought The Rookery to be a museum. In a letter to his son, Laurence he wrote:
‘These old buildings are educational and especially needed for a new town like Birmingham; a vast majority of people never think of bygone times.’
Contemporary accounts state that the area where The Rookery stood was ‘unlovely’. To give the building a better future, George Cadbury had the building carefully taken down and moved to its current site. Work began in 1909, and was finally completed in 1916. By the time the work was complete, The Rookery had a new name – Selly Manor. It opened as a museum the following year.

They let people take pictures and even handle a few items in this house, which was fun.

Janae and Josh trying to lift the chain mail! It was so heavy!
Strong Tyler!

Tyler helping me lift the chain mail. Haha!

We couldn't resist the opportunity to dress up! Fun times!
