Saturday, Oct. 17th we had the pleasure of meeting more extended family members, on my (Michelle's) side. Barbara and Bill hosted a get-together for lunch with their family. We ate a delicious meal of crackers, cheeses, salads, and pizzas, and then trifle, profiteroles (chocolate topped cream puffs), and birthday cake! It was really nice to meet, and get reaquanited, with those extended family members.
Before the meal, Bill took Dave and Josh to see the steam train at the station in Bewdley. It was doing runs over the weekend. It's a train that was built a few years ago at the cost of 6 million pounds! My dad would have loved to see this.

This group picture took many tries to get! It took a while to get the setting right and get the camera set up on the timer, and then a certain person or 2 kept blinking! We had some good laughs over it.
Back row: Phoebe Dawson (Caroline's daughter), Janae, Dave, Phil (dating Caroline), Peter Smith (Elaine's husband), Bill Goodall (Barbara's partner), Tyler, Michelle, Joshua
Front row: Caroline Penn-Smith (changed her last name)(Peter and Elaine's daughter), Elaine (Penn) Smith, Barbara (Penn) Longmore, Trudi Penn |

We celebrated Trudi's birthday, which was coming up on Tuesday. |

Laughing because Trudi had a piece of cake, so we all had to have a piece of cake for the picture. Haha. |

A different group of Penn girls, not my blood-sisters, but I felt right at home. :)

Posing and having fun with the family line chart that Elaine had put together so that everyone could see how we are related, and the Edna book of my Grandma Edna Penn. |
Most of the family left in the late afternoon, and then Dave, Peter, Bill and Tyler watched the rugby game. The world championships are on right now, being played in England. Dave, Tyler and Josh have discovered that they like watching rugby. I definitely prefer it over football, as it only takes an hour and a half to play a game, and it pretty much keeps moving, whereas football is so slow! I think we played some games with Bill and Barbara after the rugby game.
